Meet kannon
The heart and soul behind Kannon’s Kabins
I was just 15 years old, going through a tough and turning time in my life, when Kannon came along. She was the runt of a litter of free puppies - tiny, overlooked, and waiting for someone to choose her. From the moment I brought her home, she became so much more than “just a dog.” She was my companion when I needed it most, my safe place, my joy. Looking back, I truly believe she was meant to be in my life for a reason.
Kannon has been the most loyal and consistent presence I’ve ever known. In so many ways, she feels like my reflection - spunky, energetic, silly, determined, and endlessly loyal. She isn’t just my pet, she’s my partner, my shadow, my best friend. She’s part of me.
Why I named the business after her
When it came time to open this business, there was never a doubt in my mind what it should be called. I named it after Kannon because she deserves a namesake — for everything she’s been to me, and everything she’s taught me. Some of what she’s given me can’t even be put into words: the quiet comfort of her presence, the unconditional love in her eyes, the way she’s made every hard day lighter just by being there.
But more than that, I wanted the name to tell every client who walks through our doors something important: I understand how deep the love between a person and their pet can be. I don’t see dogs and cats as “pets.” I see them as family, partners in life, and irreplaceable friends. That’s how I see Kannon, and that’s how I see yours.
Our promise: The Kannon Standard of Care
Because of Kannon, I hold myself—and our team—to a higher standard. If I wouldn’t do it for her, I won’t do it for your pet. That promise runs through every part of Kannon’s Kabins, from the way we design our playrooms and choose safe toys, to the way we treat each animal as an individual with unique needs, fears, and joys. Every dog or cat who stays with us is loved like my own. They are celebrated for who they are, comforted when they’re unsure, and treated with patience, respect, and joy.
What Kannon has taught me
Kannon has been my greatest teacher. She’s taught me that care is found in the little things: showing up consistently, protecting what you love, and giving with your whole heart. Because of her, this isn’t just a business—it’s a calling.
A note from me to you
When you bring your pet to Kannon’s Kabins, you’re not just booking daycare, boarding, or vet services. You’re entrusting us with your best friend and I don’t take that lightly.
Kannon is my reason, my reminder, and my promise. The love she’s given me is the same love I’ve built this place on. And I will always care for your pet with that same devotion.
Welcome to Kannon’s Kabins—where every pet is family.
