how to prepare for boarding

Food

  • You’re welcome to bring your pet’s own food from home. Individually packaged meals are not required, but you’re welcome to do so if you prefer.

  • At drop-off, our staff will go over your pet’s feeding instructions to ensure they stick to their normal routine.

  • We also offer In-House Food (Science Diet Sensitive Stomach & Skin) for just $3/day.

  • No raw diets allowed. We do accept wet & refrigerated dog food.

Medication

  • Medication administration is always FREE.

  • Please bring enough medication (and clear instructions) for the entirety of your pet’s stay.

Comfort items

We want your pet to feel at home during their stay! You’re welcome to bring:

  • Beds, blankets, T-shirts, or toys that smell like home.

  • Please label all items with your pet’s name.

Important: If your pet is a chewer, we recommend avoiding items left in their suite for safety reasons. If destructive chewing is noticed, all items will be removed. For safety, no Nylabones, rawhide, or rope toys are allowed.

Drop off and pickup times

For the safety and security of all pets in our care, drop-off and pick-up are only available during designated times. The facility doors remain locked outside of these hours. Holiday hours may vary.

A Day in the Life at Kannon’s Kabins

At Kannon’s Kabins, every pet’s day is designed with comfort, care, and fun in mind. From morning potty breaks to bedtime tuck-ins, we keep a consistent routine that helps pets feel safe and loved while they’re here. Here’s what a typical day looks like for our boarding guests:

Monday – Friday

🌅 7:00–9:00 AM

  • Morning potty breaks

  • Breakfast & medications (if needed)

  • Check-in/check-out for arrivals & departures

🐾 9:00 AM – 12:00/1:00 PM

  • Rotational daycare play sessions (for scheduled pups)

😴 12:00/1:00 – 2:00/3:00 PM

  • Nap time for all pets

  • Daily tasks, services, and enrichment time

  • Midday potty breaks

🌙 5:00–7:00 PM

  • Dinner & medications for boarders

  • Daycare pups continue play until pick-up

  • Boarders rest after dinner (to prevent bloat/GDV)

  • Evening potty breaks

Saturday – Sunday

🌅 7:00–8:00 AM

  • Morning potty breaks

  • Breakfast & medications (if needed)

🚪 8:00–9:00 AM

  • Open for arrivals & departures

🐾 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

We stick closely to this schedule so pets know what to expect throughout their day. Of course, working with animals means every day is a little different, but our priority is always their safety, happiness, and comfort.
